Movie Review: Prom Night

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 15:51:04 PDT
Hey all, it’s Sam. Last night I went to see Prom Night. WOW. Let’s start off with a summary (there really isn’t much to summarize). It starts out with a girl who sees her family get killed by this stalker teacher. The police come but it’s too late; she’s the only survivor. Flash-forward to prom day in her senior year of high school. She’s living with her aunt and uncle who let her go to her prom with her boy friend and a few friends. Guess who decides to crash the party? Yep, that’s right; it’

They ask questions of the Huffington Post experts in order to fully inform Canadians, CBC-style. Canadians, bereft of news otherwise, could, the CBC may well think, benefit from this kind of

Earth Day 2008: Hemp for Food and Fuel!

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 15:51:35 PDT
INTRODUCTION Industrial hemp is NOT marijuana. Industrial hemp can NOT get you ‘high.’ Therefore, there is no reason for it to be illegal to grow! The US Constitution was written on Hemp paper. It was a law in America’s early days that farmers were to set aside a certain % of their farm for hemp and it was subsidized. Almost all of the founding fathers had hemp farms. Refusing to grow hemp in America during the 17th and 18th Centuries was against the law. Up until the 1880’s, hemp was the mos

Stop the Denialists before it’s too late

Well, just paraphrasing the title of this piece of crap at the Telegraph. Christopher Booker writes: But the highlight of our visit was dinner with Dr Fred Singer, a distinguished US scientist, formerly professor at two universities, and founder of the US satellite weather service. He has done more than anyone in the scientific counter-attack against the ruthless promotion of global warming orthodoxy by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Fred Singer has probably also

Running IE6, IE7 and IE8 VirtualPC (VPC) images on Mac OS X

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 15:54:18 PDT
I run a Mac, which means testing my work in IE6, IE7 and IE8 becomes difficult. I have Parallels installed but I don’t want to buy extra copies of Windows just to test IE.
